Loving KC'S Liberty AKA Britania

Liberty is a super sweet little girl! She loves affection, but she also is pretty independent. She will go off by herself sometimes, but when called she will always come a running. She was named by my little brother, Garrett, who was looking at an atlas at the time, he saw the word Britain...so she was born with the name Britania. She has always been very active and loves to explore, but at the same time she is the biggest attention hog of the litter!
When I had my first litter back in 2014, one of our very good friends, Sam who was 8 at the time, saw one of the puppies and fell in love with her.  Sam decided right then she was going to own an English Shepherd. Sam has worked really hard the last 2 years and now has enough money to ship a pup from Oregon to Texas and to pay for the puppy. I am so proud of her. When is sent her the Questionnaire, she took time to fill it out and give me all the details that were important to her. Now Sam is going to get her puppy at last. I know that this little girl is going to have a wonderful home and a wonderful life! She is moving to a small farm with lots of attention from little girls!

Congratulations Sam!!! You and Liberty will make an amazing team!!

Conrad and Quincy's 1st Litter

Conrad is very energetic, loves to do any kind of work, he can sit down and be patient with little kids, but if some one is doing something active he would rather do that. He is a super fast learner and is always wanting to learn more. He is very good about letting us know when anyone drives up. He is an instant favorite for anyone who comes over due to his friendliness and his willingness to play.
Quincy is a little sweetheart. This is her second litter and she is an amazing mamma. She is very protective of the newborn puppies. She has a natural drive to keep them healthy. Even though she is protective, she is good about letting people see and hold the pups. She is very good with children and lets them do just about anything they want with her. She is very obedient and willing to serve. She is always aware of whats around her.
Puppies were born Feb. 14, 2016, we were so excited!! Quincy did a wonderful job delivering and had 8 beautiful puppies. We do have one runt, but he did well and is quite a fighter. They will be ready for new homes by April 10th. The time is going by so fast!! It is always such a joy to see all the different personalities come out and how much these little animals love life.

I told my family that they could give the temporary names, I love that opportunity, because they have some fun names.
I will write a post for each pup and their temperament and little fun stories about them.
There's Britania, She's a little tri-colored girl. She was named by Garrett one of my brothers. He was looking at an old atlas and saw the name Britania and said that would make a good girl name. So it stuck.

Then Aventardo, who is a big tri-colored boy, but he is mostly black. He got his name from Shea, one of my brothers, who is a car guy. Apparently, for those as ignorant as I am about cars, and Aventardo is a type of Lamborghini. Who knew?

Lindor is a shaded sable girl. Since the pups were born on Valentines day, Mom said one of them had to have a chocolate name, thus Lindor.

Ajax, is a beautiful tri-colored boy with a irish pattern on his face. My brother, Zach is a history nut, so he decided on Ajax.

Now my littlest brother, Gabe, is extremely interested in human anatomy. His 10th birthday is on the 16th of February, so in honor of him, the boys named one of our girls, Patella. What is a patella? It is the Latin name for a knee cap, I told them that it had to at least sound like a girls name.  Patella is a tri-colored female, who looks just like her mamma.

One of the smallest pups born seemed like she needed a little cute girls name, so Patsie was decided on. She is shaded sable...and not one of the smallest pups.

Trigger, a tri-colored male, was named by Gabe. It was a name that Gabe liked. He is the runt

Bronze is the first pup we pulled out to show everyone, this was our first litter with shaded sables, so my Mom said he looked like a Bronze...and now he is :)

Quincy started having the pups late the night of the 13th and by the morning of the 14th they were all here. Quincy had dug a den under the kennel wall, and she was having trouble making sure everyone was eating so we moved her up to our wrap around deck for about 3 days.
Every week we have been taking pictures of the pups and it is so much fun to see how each one has grown. I always have my helpers in the picture taking.
Our family works in an orchard and we will come up to the house at noon for lunch. The first thing everyone does since the pups were born is to see and play with them until lunch is called.
A big bundle of puppies waiting their turn to have their picture taken.

Garrett has really taken an interest in this litter and wants to learn all he can about how to breed and what dog are like. He has been an amazing help with weighing pups and babysitting them while I take the pictures.
Conrad has been a tolerant father, he is ok with the pups, but he's thrilled with his daily trips to the Orchard when he can have a break. When the pups were 3-4 weeks old he was a good babysitter so that Quincy can have a break.
Garrett sure likes his puppies!!

Gabriel had an immediate attachment to Trigger and has taken it on himself to train Trigger to walk on a leash and sit when petted. He has spent hours bonding with Trigger and making sure that he has something to eat.
Shea loves the active pups and has spent his time desensitizing some of their fears. He will hold them in many different way and so I have a litter of pups that you can do just about anything with.

We surely are blessed to have these wonderful puppies, and are trilled to have so much fun running around all the time.
